Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide respite care for a 9-year-old child with autism in Sterling Heights. The role involves providing personal care, assisting with daily activities, and offering emotional support during evening shifts. This position is designed to give the primary caregivers some respite while ensuring the child is safe, comfortable, and engaged.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene support
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed
• Create and maintain a structured routine for the child, ensuring safety and comfort
• Offer support with social, communication, and life skills development
• Monitor the child’s well-being and emotional needs, offering positive reinforcement
• Engage in appropriate activities that promote social interaction 
• Ensure the child’s environment is safe, secure, and engaging during the evening hours
• Follow specific care instructions provided by the family

Requirements:

• Experience with children on the autism spectrum is preferred, but not required
• Must be comfortable providing personal care for the child
• Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor
• Ability to follow specific care plans and routines
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Availability to work evening shifts
• Must be comfortable working independently and interacting with the child in a positive, supportive manner
