Caregiver for 12-Year-Old Male

Position: Caregiver / Direct Support Professional
Location: Pleasant Ridge / Huntington Woods (Oakland County)

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable caregiver to support a 12-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Seizure Disorder, Visual Impairment, and a VP shunt. He is non-verbal and uses a wheelchair, walker, and braces. The caregiver will assist with daily routines such as brushing teeth, bathing, toileting, and diapering, while helping him build independence and confidence. Responsibilities also include monitoring for seizures, supporting safe transfers (he bears weight), and encouraging participation in daily activities.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM; flexible weekend hours

• Hours: CLS ~35 hours/week, Respite ~20 hours/week

• Home Environment: Non-smoking, no pets, two siblings in the home

• Requirements: Lifting and personal care assistance, patience, reliability, experience with developmental or physical disabilities preferred

• Other: Non-driving position
