Caregiver for 17 Year Old Male

About the Recipient:

We are seeking a compassionate caregiver for a 17-year-old male with multiple medical conditions, including Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, Non-Intractable Epilepsy, and more. He is verbal and requires assistance with daily personal care, social interaction, and community activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with personal care: Adult briefs, brushing teeth, bathing, using utensils, and toileting
• Support recipient in informing caregivers about bathroom needs
• Engage in leisure activities and social interaction with peers in the community
• Help recipient tolerate being in a stander and participate in exercise
• Foster pro-social interactions and appropriate behavior in community settings
• Encourage verbal communication and developmental progress

Requirements:

• Experience with special needs care preferred
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable
• Ability to engage in social and community-based activities
• Comfortable in a non-smoking home with no pets
• Ability to follow care plans and report any concerns to supervisors

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: Available after 3pm
• Every other weekend: Some availability
• Weekly hours: 35 CLS and 12.5 Respite

Additional Information:

• 1 sibling in the home
• Non-smoking environment, no pets
• The caregiver will support the client with a variety of needs, including personal care, social interaction, and participation in activities
