Mentor Job Posting – Community Living Support for 16-Year-Old Male (Pontiac, MI)
Position: Mentor / Community Living Support Worker
Location: Pontiac, Michigan
Schedule: Afternoons after 3:00 PM (flexible part-time hours)
Pay: $15.20–$16.20 per hour, paid weekly
Training: Paid training provided
We are seeking a positive, dependable mentor to support a 16-year-old male in developing key skills for adulthood. The mentor will focus on socialization, job-readiness, and independent living tasks, providing guidance both at home and in the community.
Responsibilities:
Support social skill development through structured conversation, community outings, and modeling appropriate interactions
Assist with basic job-readiness skills such as exploring interests, practicing applications, interview basics, and understanding workplace expectations
Work on independent living tasks tailored to the client’s goals (organization, planning, self-advocacy, etc.)
Encourage confidence, responsibility, and positive decision-making
Maintain a safe, supportive environment and follow established care guidelines
Qualifications:
Experience mentoring teens or working in support roles is helpful (not required; training provided)
Reliable, patient, and able to build positive rapport with teens
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Comfortable supporting community-based activities
Must pass standard background checks
